It is the only beach in Naha City that stretches near Naminoue Shrine, the first of the eight Ryukyu shrines and the most prestigious shrine in Okinawa. It is part of "Naminoue Umisora Park," which has been developed as a seaside water park, and is well known by Naha citizens and tourists alike. The beach is divided into two parts, the Wakasa side and the Tsuji side, across the cliff where Naminoue Shrine sits. The Wakasa side is adjacent to Wakasa Seaside Park, and the Tsuji side has fast food and other restaurants.
The free admission public beach is equipped with changing rooms, showers, and other facilities, making it a great place to casually experience the beautiful ocean and sandy beaches of Okinawa. Since it is conveniently located only 15 minutes by car from Naha Airport, you can stop by for a moment after arrival or before departure.
Admission is free and visitors can casually enjoy swimming in the sea, and there are also plenty of programs for experiencing marine activities such as diving, snorkeling, and SUP. In addition, two barbecue facilities are available within the park, allowing visitors to enjoy a full-scale barbecue even if they come empty-handed.
