Kibori
A popular Hamamatsu gyoza spot known for its light flavor and thin wrappers.
A longtime Hamamatsu gyoza favorite founded in 1972. The name “Kibori” reflects the owners’ wish to be a welcoming neighborhood spot people are happy to return to. With plenty of counter seating, it’s an easy place to drop in solo.
Their gyoza feature a savory filling packed with cabbage. The lighter seasoning with less garlic and thinner-than-usual wrappers are especially popular with women and older diners. In true Hamamatsu style, enjoy them with the crunchy bean sprout garnish.
Along with the classic gyoza, try the seafood gyoza, with your choice of shrimp, squid, or crab. The most popular is the shrimp gyoza, made with peeled shrimp mixed into the standard filling for a great aroma and flavor.
They also offer set meals that pair gyoza with rice, miso soup, and pickles. It’s also nice that you can pick up freshly cooked gyoza or house-made frozen gyoza to take home.
