A lodging in Akiu Onsen, Sendai’s “inner parlor.” Reopened after renovations in April 2023, it offers an atmosphere where tradition and modern style blend, surrounded by abundant nature and beautiful scenery throughout the seasons.

The hot spring water, drawn from the source of Akiu Onsen—one of Oshu’s three famous hot springs—is mildly alkaline and low-tonicity, and is expected to promote smooth, beautiful skin by softening dead skin cells. In the reservation-only private open-air bath, you can unwind in a stone tub while listening to the murmuring of the Natori River.

Guest rooms come in four types. With a calm, Japanese-modern feel, you can choose from options like rooms with a semi-open-air bath and spacious 56㎡ Japanese-Western rooms. The property also features the Akiu area’s only indoor Finnish sauna and an on-site bar with a grown-up vibe, so you can spend a truly relaxing time.

Meals are served as a creative kaiseki course using local ingredients, known for beautifully presented dishes. The highlight is steak grilled on a teppan iron plate, with different cuts to enjoy depending on the course. There’s also a wide selection of local sake and shochu, so be sure to enjoy the pairing with your meal.
