Ebisuya Kyoto Higashiyama offers this special experience in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district. With a knowledgeable driver as your guide, you can explore some of Kyoto’s best-known landmarks, including Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Yasaka Pagoda, and the stone-paved streets of Gion, as well as hidden spots nearby.
A wide variety of courses are available, ranging from 12 minutes to several hours. You can choose anything from a short route covering the main sights to a course that lets you fully enjoy the Higashiyama area from north to south, depending on your travel style.
The rickshaw drivers are not only well versed in Higashiyama’s landmarks and history, but also know all the best photo spots, and the photos they take are highly praised by guests. Rickshaw rides while wearing kimono are especially popular, and you can capture a perfect Kyoto-style photo at scenic spots full of local charm. The boarding area is around Ichinenzaka near Kodaiji Temple, where many rickshaws are usually waiting. Advance reservations are available for courses of at least 30 minutes.
