This green space stretches along both banks of the Shinano River in central Niigata City and features gently sloping embankments developed for flood control and to create a pleasant waterside environment. Benches, restrooms, flower beds, and sculptures line the river, making it a relaxing place where locals enjoy picnics and walks. In spring, it becomes a popular cherry blossom viewing spot with tulips in bloom, while in summer many people gather here to watch the Niigata Festival Fireworks.
Approx. 1,000 cherry trees, including Somei Yoshino and double-flowered cherry trees, are planted here, and they usually bloom from early April to late April. Approx. 30,000 tulips begin blooming in mid-April, and depending on the timing, you can enjoy both cherry blossoms and tulips at the same time. Viewing the cherry blossoms from the water aboard the Shinano River Water Shuttle is also popular. At night, visitors can enjoy a magical night view along with the scenery of the Shinano River and Bandai Bridge.
