Mahora Iwate
An outdoor base on the Yabukawa Plateau where you can enjoy nature experiences in the wild.
A nature experience facility located on the Yabukawa Plateau on the outskirts of Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture. Centered around a vast campground, it offers a wide range of activities such as harvest experiences, fishing, boating, BBQ, and trekking.
The most popular activity is the harvest experience, where you can enjoy gathering different seasonal foods, including wild mountain vegetables in spring, corn and blueberries in summer, and mushrooms in fall. You can also catch char during the fishing experience, then grill and eat it yourself. Other options include boating on a large pond, trekking with a nature guide, pizza making, and Strider bike rentals, with plenty of outdoor activities to refresh both body and mind in the great outdoors.
The facility also has the Komorebi-kan rest house, open on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, serving soft-serve ice cream and light meals. The campground is a free-site campground open 365 days a year, and also offers hands-free BBQ plans, day camping, and pet-friendly stays.
