COVA KAKUDA

A retreat where the memory of pearls lives on, and you can feel at one with the sea.

Last update :
Supervised by :  Kakuda Pearl Co., Ltd.

A luxury villa located within Ise-Shima National Park. Reusing a site that once thrived as a pearl cultivation factory, it offers a one-of-a-kind retreat stay.

The property has just four guest rooms, each featuring refined interiors that preserve traces of its past as a pearl cultivation factory, including wooden ceiling beams. With sweeping views of beautiful Ago Bay beyond the large windows, guests can fully enjoy soothing moments for both body and mind, along with a floating sensation that feels as if they are becoming one with the cove.

A wide range of activities is available during your stay. In addition to marine activities such as open-water swimming and sauna sessions in Ago Bay right in front of the property, SUP, and fishing, the lineup also includes one-of-a-kind industrial experiences such as touring a pearl farm, visiting a fish market with COVA staff, and interacting with free-range Silkie chickens.

Meals are produced by Mamoru Matsumoto, a Japanese cuisine chef born and raised in Shima. The main focus is innovative fusion cuisine made with plenty of freshly landed local seafood and just-harvested vegetables, along with extensive sake pairings and a fine selection of Japanese whisky.
