  • Asukayama Park

    Japan's first park, opened to the public and planted with cherry trees by Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune about 300 years ago. It is one of Tokyo’s most famous cherry blossom viewing spots, and the park features around 600 cherry trees. Other plants in the park include hydrangeas and azaleas.

    The Benishidarezakura (weeping cherry tree) is loved by local residents as a symbol of Miharu Town. It is said that the name "Benishidarezakura" comes from its location in the Taki district, where the small flowers that fill the branches extending in all directions look like a cascading waterfall. The tree is estimated to be over 1,000 years old.
