Togoshi Ginza Onsen

Located one street south of the Central Street zone of Togoshi Ginza Shopping Street, this sento (public bathhouse) lets you soak in kuro-yu (black hot spring). “Kuro-yu” is a type of hot spring common in the Kanto region, known for its dark brown-to-black water. It’s said to help with nerve pain, joint pain, and fatigue, and also offers heat-retaining and moisturizing benefits, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth.

Inside are two distinct bathing areas: “Tsuki no Yu (Moon Bath),” with a modern black-themed design, and “Hi no Yu (Sun Bath),” which feels bright and open. Both feature kuro-yu. The men’s and women’s sides rotate daily between Tsuki no Yu and Hi no Yu, so you’ll find out which one you get when you arrive.

There’s also a “hands-free set” (130 yen) with a towel and shampoo, making it easy to drop in before or after exploring the shopping street.
