Located in Wakkanai, KitaColor is a multi-functional complex that serves as the city’s central hub for transportation and tourism. Its name—chosen through a public contest—reflects a vision of “spreading color from Japan’s northernmost city, Wakkanai, to the rest of the country and the world.”

The facility is directly connected to JR Wakkanai Station, the terminus of the Soya Main Line, and includes a bus terminal that handles local routes as well as long-distance buses to and from Sapporo.
It also functions as a roadside station (Michi-no-Eki), offering sightseeing and transport information, as well as rest areas for travelers.
A spacious atrium on the second floor, complete with seating, provides a warm and comfortable place to wait for buses or trains, especially in the winter months.

Inside, you'll find shops selling local specialties, various dining options including cafés and restaurants, and amenities like the T-Joy Wakkanai cinema and a Seicomart convenience store—making it useful for both tourists and locals.
