Shikisai Akita Zukushi Yuze Hotel

A hot spring inn known for its skin-friendly “beauty bath” waters and scenic open-air baths by the mountain stream.

Last update :

Yuze Onsen Village stretches along Yuze Gorge at the foot of the Ou Mountains. The hot spring is said to have gotten its name from the abundant waters that bubble up even from the river shallows, and it is known as one of Japan’s three great “beauty baths,” said to make you look two years younger after just one soak. Yuze Hotel is especially proud of its large public bath, where guests can enjoy these famous free-flowing spring waters. Bath options are varied, from spacious indoor baths and open-air baths with views of the natural beauty of the mountain stream to private baths with a secluded feel, and in April 2024, a new open-air bath called “Meditation Mori no Yu” opened, offering a quiet space for meditative soaking.

The main building and annex, standing on opposite sides of the Yoneshiro River, offer a wide range of guest rooms, including Japanese-Western style rooms with beds and traditional Japanese-style rooms. Among them, the suites with open-air baths and stunning premium views from the 11th floor of the main building, as well as the special rooms with free-flowing hot spring baths, are dream rooms you will want to stay in at least once.

For dinner, the hotel serves Akita local cuisine made with regional ingredients, including kiritanpo hot pot, which is said to have originated in Kazuno. Spend a peaceful time in spaces filled with the warmth of wood, such as the lobby overlooking the mountain stream and the lounge where you can relax with welcome drinks and alcohol.
