Sekitaitei Ishida
A hot spring inn where you can experience Japanese culture through nightly traditional performances on a Noh stage.
This hot spring ryokan stands on a hill in Hirugami Onsen, the largest hot spring resort area in Southern Shinshu. Set on a vast 3,000-tsubo property, it features 17 sukiya-style guest rooms, with a charming garden stretching out beyond the verandas. Every room is spacious and carefully designed, including special rooms with private hot springs and two-room suites, each with its own distinct atmosphere and character.
Another standout feature is the all-cypress Noh stage with a cypress bark roof facing the lobby. Every night, guests can enjoy traditional performances by local artists, including kyogen, koto, shamisen, and Japanese taiko drums. There is also a bar counter beside the stage, making it a great place to watch the performance with a drink in hand.
The hot spring facilities include indoor baths, open-air baths, and private baths, where guests can fully enjoy the smooth, silky waters of Hirugami Onsen. The eight guest rooms with private hot springs are also especially popular. Meals are served as seasonal kaiseki cuisine, with changing menus throughout the year featuring local Shinshu specialties such as Shinshu beef and horse sashimi.
