Hakodate City Chiiki koryu Machizukuri Center
Hakodate City Chiiki koryu Machizukuri Center with a domed roof is designated as Hakodate’s landscape forming architecture. Having been in use since 1923, this building went through a massive renovation into the design similar to the former Marui Imai kimono shop’s Hakodate branch.
This is a spot where Hakodate locals gather for cultural exchange. There's a lot of information available too.
SENDAI CITY JOMON SITE PARK
SENDAI CITY JOMON SITE PARK was established to preserve and utilize remnants of the Jomon Period settlement discovered at Yamada-Kaminodai ancient ruins. The Yamada-Kaminodai ancient ruins is a settlement dating back to the end of the Middle Jomon Period, approximately 4,000 years ago, where 38 pit houses and 320 clay pits were found.
This is a fantastic museum, perfect for anyone interested in history. It's especially great for families, and you can even try out lots of Stone Age crafts!
Awazu Onsen
Since this hot spring was founded in Nara Period by Reverend Taicho, it has been beloved by many visitors who seek healing. This is the oldest hot spring in the Kaga Onsen Resort which derives from the sacred Mt. Hakusan. The spring water has been known to be effective for neuralgia, sore muscles, cut, burn, and detoxification.
Besides the local public bathhouses, there’s also the beautiful Natadera Temple and a craft village here. Don’t miss Yunokuni no Mori either!
Katayamazu Onsen
This is one of the Kaga onsen resorts, which spreads by Lake Shibayama overlooking Mt. Hakusan. Take in the lake view which is said to change colors seven times each day, while soaking in a hot spring or strolling the lake shore.
The healing hot spring water and public baths here are a real draw for tourists in this area.
Lake Juniko (Aoike / Blue Pond)
In the west Part of Shirakami Sanchi (Mountain), a UNESCO World Heritage site, a group of 33 lakes are nestled in the beech forest. They are said to have been made by an avalanche due to a huge earthquake. The name came from the view from the top of the mountain which shows only 12 lakes / ponds.
The colorful Aoike (Blue Pond) is so beautiful, it's unforgettable! ❤️ The water is amazing.
[Closed Down]GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA
The Gundam is a mobile suit that appears in the popular animation "Mobile Suit Gundam," which is loved around the world. Visitors can enjoy an up-close display of a life-size "moving Gundam" measuring 18 meters in height at the "GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA" that has just opened at the Yamashita Wharf.

Meiso no Sato (Meditation Resort)
This mysterious village, known as ”the Village in the Sky,” sits at the top of Toga Village Uebatake. Huge Mandala and Buddha paintings created by a Nepalese monk such as a dynamic painting of a garden “Flower Mandala” at the center are hung in the Meditation Hall, a display room and an inn. Yoga and meditation events are held for visitors to refresh their bodies and souls.
You can really relax your body and mind here. It's a great place to feel at one with nature.
Nousaku
This metal casting company was established in 1916 in Takaoka City which has developed as a casting town for over 400 years. Earlier, they made teaware, Buddhist ceremonial ware, vases, etc. but lately they are expanding into interior goods. Their tableware made of 100% tin, the first in the world, are attracting domestic and international attention to their technology and designs.
Such a unique place! You can watch traditional craftsmanship being passed down and even try making something yourself.
Yasugibushi Performance Hall
Yasugibushi Performance Hall is a theater daily performing the Dojou-Sukui dance (dojo pond loach catching dance) which grew very popular from the Taisho Period to the beginning of Showa Period.
You get to go up on stage and learn the Dojou Sukui dance from the teacher! It's a super fun and popular experience. 👏
Nago City Hall
While performing administrative functions as Nago City Hall, it is a hidden tourist spot known for its famous architecture. Looking like an ancient ruin, you may not recognize it as a city hall at first glance. It is also known as an "energy-saving government building" because of its distinctive design that takes advantage of Okinawa's climate by allowing sea breezes to cool the building.
Nago has such a warm climate and beautiful beaches. 🏝️ Loved it!
