This place really has a strong indigenous vibe. It feels very different from regular tourist spots, and the Ainu handicrafts are quite unique.

Kirishima-Jingu was transferred to its present location over 500 years ago, after repeatedly burning down and being rebuilt due to Mt. Kirishima’s eruptions. Such a beautiful place! The giant sacred tree and the whole environment are just fantastic.

EDO WONDERLAND
Nikko Edomura is a theme park where guests can experience what it was like in the Edo period (1603-1868) in the present day. The vast grounds are made to look like an authentic townscape, with features like olden highways, inns, shopping streets, ninja villages, and samurai residences. In the dress-up area, guests can change clothes and transform themselves into Edo residents like ninjas, samurai, and feudal lords. Furthermore, there are so many hands-on experiences available to enjoy!
The whole park perfectly recreates life in the Edo period. Even the small details are done with great care. The performers' costumes and actions in the theater show how much effort they put in.
