As soon as you go up, you can see Lake Toya right away. The view is super wide open. Getting scenery like this without having to hike up a mountain feels really generous for an observatory.

Nasu Safari Park
This safari park was opened in 1980 in the nature-rich Nasu Highland. About 700 wild animals of 70 species collected from all over the world are free-roaming here.
You can get really close to the animals by riding in a car. It feels super immersive! The herbivores even walk right up to the car—if it's your first time, it'll definitely surprise you.

Tenjin-dori Shopping Street
This shopping street is on the road approaching Fudaten Shrine from Chofu Station. It has gained a reputation under the nickname "Kitaro Street" because Kitaro from the popular manga "GeGeGe no Kitaro" lives in the forest behind Fudaten Shrine.
It’s not a long street, but it feels really local and lively. There are lots of hidden gem shops to discover!

Awaji Service Area (Highway Rest Stop)
Awaji Service Area is located at the foot of the huge Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. The area offers many observation decks and various photo opportunity spots. The mascot character of the Honshu-Shikoku expressway, Wataru, gives you a hand to help you take a nice photo with the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge as a backdrop.
There's a Starbucks, some restaurants, and a souvenir area where you can buy exclusive items. The coolest part is the Ferris wheel inside the rest area—you get a great view of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge from up high.
