Loved the wooden decor and the original look of the old house. Enjoyed a delicious curry rice made with local ingredients in this charming, rustic setting. The dessert after the meal was also spot on!

Sadoya Winery
Founded in 1917 in Kofu City, Sadoya Winery is an esteemed establishment and long-time player in the wine game. Many toast to its claim as the pioneer of authentic dry wines in Japan and sheer dedication to craft wines that always pair with a meal. Plus, its easy access just a 5-minute walk from JR Kofu Station keeps patrons happy, head-to-toe. Step over to the winery to find a spacious property of some 7,200 square meters (approximately 2,200 tsubo), all beaming with an atmosphere akin to a château in the South of France.
The atmosphere here is elegant, and you can join a guided tour and visit the wine cellar. It's fun to listen to the stories while sampling a variety of red and white wines. The vibe is relaxed yet classy—great for a date or hanging out with friends.

Kashiwaya Kobayashi
Just a 4-minute walk from Kurashiki station. Kashiwaya Kobayashi is a restaurant specializing in chicken dishes, famous for its Yakitori carefully grilled over binchotan charcoal. They use the freshest and finest ingredients, including the valuable "Tankai Jidori" chicken raised at a poultry farm in Shiga.
The flavor from grilling over binchotan charcoal is really something special. It tastes amazing!

Mitsui Outlet Park Kurashiki
Mitsui Outlet Park Kurashiki is an outlet mall with excellent access just 3 minutes on foot from JR Kurashiki Station. Inside the mall which has a spacious open feel are lined stores of famous domestic and foreign manufacturers of fashion, general merchandise, sports and outdoor goods.
It's really close to the station, so I stopped by for a quick look. Honestly, it was a bit disappointing. The place is pretty small and there aren't many brands. Compared to other Mitsui outlets, this one falls short.
