You have to see the giant torii gate on the sea. High tide and low tide each give a totally different vibe. When the tide is out, you can even walk close to the gate, which is really special.

DMM Kariyushi Aquarium
Located just a 20-minute drive from Naha Airport, DMM Kariyushi Aquarium opened in 2020 in the ever-popular "Toyosaki Town" area, home to beaches, resorts, and shopping facilities. The aquarium is designed around the concept of providing "zero-distance wonder and immersive experiences”, so you can get even closer to beauty of nature and marine life via innovative displays.
It feels really new and modern.
The space isn’t that big, but the layout is well done and it’s quite different from a traditional aquarium.
It goes for a high-tech, digital kind of style. -

Shuri Ryusen
Located in Naha City, Okinawa, Shuri Ryusen stands on the former site of Chuzanmon Gate, the first gate to Shurijo Castle. It is a studio where you can observe and experience both Bingata, a traditional dyeing technique that dates back to the 13th-century Ryukyu Kingdom, and coral dyeing, the studio’s own original dyeing technique. Its rare gassho-zukuri style building, a traditional steeply gabled structure, serves as a distinctive landmark.
Each piece is a little different and has its own character.
Buying them as souvenirs feels really meaningful. -
Kabukicho
Kabukicho is the entertainment district that sits just steps from the east exit of Shinjuku Station. It’s a major hub for izakaya pubs, amusement centers and nightlife spots to enjoy after hours. With neon signs lit up through the entire night, it’s earned the nickname of “the city that never sleeps”.
I couldn't believe how dirty and messy it was—I never expected this in Japan.
