It’s all hilly roads and slopes here. I wore shoes that aren’t great for walking, so it was pretty tough to get around.

Hakone Sightseeing Cruise
A sightseeing ship that operates on Lake Ashinoko, a scenic spot in Hakone. The three ships, Royale II, Victory, and Queen Ashinoko, are characterized by their colorful and luxurious decorations. Each of them has a capacity of about 500 passengers and takes 25 to 35 minutes each way between Togendai Port, Hakone-machi Port, and Moto-Hakone Port. On a sunny day, the open deck is a great place to enjoy the scenery. Enjoy the pleasant breeze and the seasonal views of nature and mountains.
I got lucky with the weather on this trip. It was a beautiful day!

One-Day Zen Experience at Mt. Tenshin Shinsho-ji Temple
Mt. Tenshin Shinsho-ji Temple, founded in 1965, is a temple of the Kennin-ji sect of Rinzai Buddhism. The temple grounds, which include the Tahoto Pagoda, Mumyo-in Temple, and the International Zen Center, are known as the “Zen Museum and Gardens,” a place to experience the world of Zen that is attracting attention from both inside and outside Japan.
The combination of a Japanese garden and art museum creates a truly unique atmosphere. The meal—simple udon with a few small side dishes—looks plain but is surprisingly satisfying. A wonderful and rare experience.

Katsushika Shibamata Tora-san Museum
Katsushika Shibamata Tora-san Museum is a popular spot located within Shibamata Park about three minutes on foot past Shibamata Taishakuten.
Even though I didn't really know the story, the videos and model displays helped me get a sense of what life was like for ordinary people back then.
