This port was already thriving back in the Meiji era. Many trading and shipping company buildings have survived the test of time, making it a popular spot in Kitakyushu.

Mallage Shobu
One of the largest shopping malls in the area, opened in 2008 along National Route 122 in Kuki City, Saitama Prefecture. Around 240 specialty stores offer everything from fashion and lifestyle goods to electronics and hobbies, while the mall also features a food court with 800 seats and a restaurant area serving Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine. In addition to the movie theater "109 Cinemas" with IMAX Laser and 4DX, there is also a children's amusement facility with slides and a large ball pool, making this a well-rounded mall where you can enjoy shopping, dining, and entertainment all day.
There are quite a few retail brands here, like Uniqlo, H&M, and GAP.

Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street
Osaka's representative shopping arcade. It is said to be "the longest shopping arcade in Japan" with a total length of about 2.6 km from Tenjinbashi 1-chome to 7-chome. It takes about 40 minutes to walk from one end of the arcade to the other. The arcade began to flourish when it became the main approach to Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, which is located in 2-chome and is dedicated to Sugawara Michizane, the god of learning.
There are so many different kinds of shops here—fashion boutiques, variety stores, bookstores, drugstores, and even department stores. Plus, there are tons of places to eat, both traditional and modern. It's a great spot to shop, eat, and have fun.
