When the bridge is too low, everyone on the boat has to duck down to get through. It's actually really fun and interesting!

GRAND GREEN OSAKA
A large-scale complex built on the former Umeda Freight Station site, GRAND GREEN OSAKA is located just steps from JR Osaka Station. It consists of the South Building, North Building, and Umekita Park. Part of the facility opened in September 2024, with the grand opening scheduled for March 21, 2025, and the full completion planned for FY2027.
It feels like a little oasis in the city! There are shops, restaurants, and relaxing spaces, plus lots of green areas and walking paths. Walking around here is really comfortable and doesn't feel crowded at all. The vibe is laid-back but stylish, perfect for shopping, grabbing coffee, or hanging out with friends. At night, the lights make it pretty romantic too. It's a great spot in Osaka to relax and take photos.

Shinmon Dori
Roughly 700m approach stretches from the great gate at the Uga Bridge, the national tangible cultural property, to another shrine gate at Seidamari. This is called Shinmon Street where many visitors pass to and from the Izumo Tisha Shrine. An elegant and unique scenery spreads from the front gate of Izumo Taisha towards the great gate of Uga Bridge.
You can find all kinds of traditional craft and handmade shops here. The souvenirs and gifts are full of Japanese traditional culture and craftsmanship, making them really memorable to bring home.

Goen Yokocho
Goen Yokocho is a commercial facility located right in front of Izumo Taisha's main gate, where you can find a variety of local Shimane delicacies and souvenirs in a building reminiscent of Edo-period row houses.
Goen Yokocho has preserved a lot of traditional Japanese architecture and cultural elements. You can really feel the authentic Japanese atmosphere here. There are classic izakayas and snack shops lining the street, and the whole area has a charming, old-fashioned vibe that makes you feel like you've traveled back in time.
