The interior is calm and peaceful. Whether you're religious or not, you can find a sense of tranquility here. It's a quiet spiritual spot right in the middle of Tokyo.

Kakegawa Castle
Originally built in the late 15th century under the order of Suruga’s feudal lord, the Imagawa clan, Kakegawa Castle was constructed by the Asahina clan as part of Imagawa’s expansion into the Totomi region. In 1590, Yamauchi Katsutoyo, who was appointed as the castle lord, carried out a major renovation, reconstructing the castle tower, the main gate, and developing the surrounding castle town.
The surroundings are beautifully maintained, and if you visit in spring, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms, which makes for a really romantic atmosphere. Plus, the Ninomaru Art Museum and the palace are right next door, so you can visit them too. Spending half a day here is just perfect~

Karafuto Islanders Memorial – Gate of Ice and Snow
Located within Wakkanai Park, the Karafuto Islanders Memorial - Gate of Ice and Snow is a monument dedicated to those who lost their lives in Karafuto (now Sakhalin), which was once part of Japan. The memorial stands on ground that historically served as a vital link between Japan and Karafuto-a place where many people once came and went.
The Gate of Ice and Snow feels solemn and really makes you reflect. When it's covered in snow during winter, it looks even more beautiful and a bit melancholic.

Kanazakura Shrine
Nestled deep within Shosenkyo Gorge-one of Yamanashi Prefecture’s most scenic destinations-Kanazakura Shrine is an ancient sanctuary with a history spanning over 2,000 years. The shrine venerates Mount Kinpu as its sacred mountain and enshrines local crystals known as Hi no Tama (Fire Orb) and Mizu no Tama (Water Orb), both revered as powerful spiritual stones.
The golden cherry blossoms in spring are beautiful and the place feels full of spiritual energy. It's especially good for praying for good fortune and safety. The sacred crystals are said to be very effective. Definitely worth a visit!
