It’s now an arts and culture space, and sometimes there are exhibitions or events. Walking around inside feels really relaxing, and you can take lots of great photos.
If you’re into old buildings and that vintage vibe, this spot is definitely worth a visit!

Jishu Jinja (Kyoto, Kiyomizu)
Kyoto’s famous tourist spot in Kiyomizu Temple near the Stage of Kiyomizu. It is said to have been built before the country of Japan was established while Kyoto Valley was still a lake. The shrine was worshipped as the place for longevity. The halls and the ground are designated as national important cultural properties and the world cultural heritage site.
Besides getting rid of bad luck, you can also pray for good relationships here. Most of the visitors are young women.

Kodaiji Temple
At the foot of Mt. Higashiyama, Kyoto, northeast of Hokanji Temple known for Yasaka Pagoda, there is a zen temple. After the death of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, his wife Nene (Kita-no-Mandokoro) moved from Osaka to Kyoto and retired into religion.
The reflection of the autumn leaves on the lake at night looks just like a mirror. The garden is pretty dim, but luckily you can just follow the crowd.

Tofukuji Temple
This is the head temple of Rinzai School. Kujo Michiie wished to have a temple for his family burial under Reverend Shoichi Kokusi’s ministry, and built seven halls during 19 years beginning in 1236.
If you're in Kyoto for fall foliage, Tofukuji Temple is a must-visit. The night illumination is also a highlight, but make sure to book online in advance.
