Honetsukidori Taachan

Honetsukidori Taachan is in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture. For 40 years, it has stayed committed to grilling bone-in chicken over direct heat. This specialty restaurant carefully grills each piece with expert skill. One of its biggest draws is the rich flavor of Kagawa’s branded Olive Chicken. It has been featured not only in Japan but also in overseas media, drawing attention from a wide audience.

Each piece of directly grilled "Honetsukidori" takes 50 minutes to cook. Using skilled craftsmanship, the restaurant slowly grills both sides of the bone-in chicken with great care. This brings out the savory aroma and flavor unique to direct-fire grilling. It is known as a one-of-a-kind dish that lets you fully enjoy the natural umami of chicken. The menu also includes a wide variety of skewers and à la carte dishes such as grilled chicken meatball skewers, salted young chicken wings, and seared mature chicken.

Inside, the restaurant offers easy-to-use counter seats and relaxing sunken kotatsu-style tatami seating. There are 10 tatami tables, and the space can accommodate private banquet parties of up to 50 people, including events lasting more than 2 hours.
