Sakaeda Udon Main Store is located behind the Kagawa Prefectural Government Office in Takamatsu. Founded in 1963, it is a long-established handmade udon restaurant. Open from 7:00am, it is bustling with both locals and tourists. The restaurant uses a self-service style. Customers warm up their own noodles, pour broth from a tap, and top them with whatever they like.

The menu features eight types: kake udon, hiyakake udon, bukkake udon, niku udon, niku bukkake udon, kama-kake udon, kama-tama udon, and kama-age udon. There are also over 60 kinds of tempura to choose from freely. The broth is based on iriko and has a rich seafood flavor. The noodles are handmade and pleasantly firm. The limited-quantity fresh soba is also a popular item.

The clean, spacious interior has 15 counter seats and 32 table seats, for a total of 50 seats. Many customers stop by during work breaks. It is also close to sightseeing spots such as Tamamo Park (Takamatsu Castle Ruins) and Ritsurin Garden. Families, solo diners, and groups all visit. It is an easy place to enjoy authentic Sanuki udon.
