A hot spring resort hotel with beautiful ocean views and sunsets sinking below the horizon.

Last update :

HOTEL AZUMA is a hot spring resort on the coast of Sado City, Niigata Prefecture. It has a long history dating back to 1925, when it opened as the traditional Japanese restaurant “Azuma.” Set in a prime location overlooking Nanaura Coast, selected as one of the 100 Best Sunset Spots on the Sea of Japan, the hotel offers ever-changing views of the sea and sky. The scenery at dusk is especially breathtaking and continues to captivate visitors.

There are six types of guest rooms, and every room offers sweeping views of the Sea of Japan. Rooms with open-air baths let you enjoy a luxurious private soak with ocean views from stone, ceramic, or cypress baths. Meals feature kaiseki cuisine made with seasonal ingredients from Sado. The cooking reflects the skill and dedication rooted in the tradition of a long-established Japanese restaurant.

The property includes a garden of Approx. 23,500 square meters, where you can stroll along the seaside path called “Yubae no Komichi.” There is also a wide range of activities, including yoga, tai chi, sea kayaking, and Sado folk songs and Okesa dance. This is a charming place to stay where Sado’s nature, culture, and hospitality come together in harmony.
